No. You can't have an open container of alcohol in a vehicle in most, if not all states. Open container means a bottle or can that has been opened (whether the cap is on or not). It is because there is no way to prove that the driver has not been drinking or that another person won't drive after drinking.

NO you can't have an open anything with alchol in a car while driving at least in CA
Also it is against the law to have alchol in your car what so ever if its in your name and your under 21 ex. if you buy a car and then take a trip somewhere and bring alchol and its just in the back not open and your mom is driving doesn't matter... its you ticket cuz its in your car IF your under 21 and its your possison.
some more interesting stuff you can drive barefoot and your allowed to change lanes in the middle of an intersection and you don't have to use your blinker if you switching lanes.

Laws vary from state to state. You did not specify which state you were in so it is impossible to answer. I know up here in the frozen north lands it is good for an IP. Better to be safe and assume it is illegal, although if your looking at worming your way around the law for your next fraternity road trip. your not going to listen to me anyway.

I would think that would be the same as having an open container in a car. Don't know what your state law is?????

Yes, it is legal to drink it in the back area...the living area, but not the passenger seat up front.

It is still drink and driving. Not a smart thing to do. Cops will pick you up for this offense.
