Pity? I don't feel sorry for you for being a virgin at 28. You have your reasons for being a virgin, and I'm not going to pry.
Pride? I don't think it's an accomplishment to be a virgin at 28. Or at any age. You were born a virgin; it's pretty easy to remain one.
So, I can only think the obvious: You're a virgin at the age of 28 because you haven't had sex.
