Just any romantic setting...a favorite place of hers or a place that represents some fond memory for both of you together...that's all a gal needs...and get down on the knee...and look her in the eyes..and ask. The asking at basketball games and in front of thousands of people - is never as intimate or romantic or special...as just you two in a beautiful setting.
Good luck to you and many blessings!

Coolest idea I've ever seen: A guy went to one of those pottery-painting stores and made a dinner plate with "Will you Marry Me?" written on it. He then made a date with his girlfriend for dinner at one of their favorite restaurants, and went there ahead of time to arrange things with the cooks and waitstaff. They brought her dinner on that plate, so when she was through eating, the question was right there in front of her.

Now, I'm NOT a fan of proposing to somebody in a public place, because I think that puts undue pressure on them to say yes, but if you know how to cook and have cooked dinner for her before, this could be a very sweet idea. And then the two of you would have a souvenir of the occasion.

My husband proposed to me after we went skydiving. After we were safely on the ground, and I was still feeling the effects of the dive, he asked me to marry him. How could I say no?

You may need some help from other people, but a public proposal is always sweet. But just make sure you're confident she'll say yes, LOL.

A beautiful dinner right before proposing is always nice. It would make it even better if the dinner is at the place u had ur first date.

I personally find that hiding a ring in food or a candle lit dinner alone at home is cheesy. I'd like to be proposed by him taking me somewhere like on a picnic or whatever and telling me how he feels then asking. W/e you choose i'm sure she'll love it!

Depends on what is special to the two of you...How did you meet? Does she like being public or is she a private type of person? It all depends on her personality, but regardless of what you do, however it is carried out will be special just because of your love.
Good luck to the both of you.

Sorry, I'm not a lady...put the ring in the ring box, take it to Godiva and have them dip it in their chocolate, buy a box of their chocolates and put the dipped box inside it, save it till dessert and have her open it...go from there...

make is surprising, don't take her to a fancy restaurant like everyone else, yet don't make it cheap like the movies. Maybe at the park or beach.
