Recently ive been getting a lot of tramps sleeping in my road in the porches of houses. Its really getting to me and it makes the area look so horrid. Is there anyway i can get rid of them?

Non-emergency police number (if you know it) and social services.

Contact the local police, however if they are not actually causing any nuisance other than in appearance, and not breaking any laws, the police will not do very much. It is something that shouldn't be happening and really, with all the social security and benefit systems, there is really no need for anyone to be sleeping rough! Many are ex-patients form the Psychiatric units that have been forced to close and they really can't handle being out in the world, they should all be rounded up and housed somewhere, which is what care in the community was suppopsed to be, not allowing them to be vagrants and tramps

I am so sorry that you're feeling down about the homeless people, I too once felt like you until I got talking to a few. but I think you should thank god that you don't have to live that way. Some of the homeless people have had awful lives at home and have left even though they have nowhere to go. I'm sure they would prefer to have a roof over their heads where they can feel safe.

Maybe you should make sandwiches for them and make some tea instead of trying to send them away.

I am so sorry that I feel this strongly about it, but after meeting a couple and actually taking the time to listen to them, my attitude changed.

Think of them as feral cats - maybe you won't feel so bad.

While I do feel concern for people being homeless, at the same time I would not want strangers camping in close proximity to my home. Code compliance and the non emergency number to the police department are two places to check for help.

Well then how about you help them out with fresh clothes, food, and organise your neighbourhood watch into helping them off the street (and not shove them into a psycho and junkie ridden hostel that would terrify you).

Get them off any drugs and get them any psyciatric help them may need. Help them find a stable address so they can get a bank account and help them find a job were they can support them that suits them and they can keep, with emotional and councilling support.

Many are ex soldiers trumatised by what they see or kids who were abused constantly by parents or in kids homes hence not being able to cope and hence any drugs to mask the pain...

Spoilt brat. After all, you have roof over you head, food to eat, all the creature comforts of your home. What do the homeless people have? and what do have against them? No body make's them self homeless. we should try to understand the reason's of why they ended up in this situation?

You have no idea what their life is like. Have you ever been to a homeless shelter? I have. you're road is like heaven to them. They sleep in TRASH BAGS, they SLEEP IN DUMPSTERS. Shelters don't have enough food or room for them. Their BABIES AND CHILDREN go hungry because some RICH, SELFISH, JERKY, SNOB like YOU don't care what happens to them, as long as they don't die on YOUR PORCH. Simply because IT LOOKS HORRID!!!!????

You can call the police. If there is some kind of shelter in the area for them, the police should know.

Call the police.

Contact a shelter.

Contact a local food bank and a local soup kitchen.

In the mean time, be sure you lock your doors and that your house is secure.
