Hi Macy. I have never seen a medical study that correlates scoliosis with cancer. I just did a quick Medline search of the medical literature and didn't find anything. Although, tumors in the spine can cause a scoliosis to develop. But generally, I don't think scoliosis increases the risk of cancer in the spine.

'Spine cancer' can mean two things. One, cancer that occurs First in the spine. This is called a Primary Spine Cancer. Multiple Myeloma is an example of this type of cancer.

The second type of spine cancer, and the most common, is Metastatic cancer in the spine. This is a cancer that has spread from another organ with cancer. Breast, lung and prostate cancers often do this.

Whole books have been written about treatment options for cancer. Sadly, especially with metastases, cancers of the spine are not often successfully treated.

Hope this was helpful. Best wishes.
