The Bible and mythology do indeed share many similarities. The Bible is REAL only as it was written by the hand of mankind - NOT God and the other nonsense many people attribute to it. It is merely a spiritual and moral guidepost NOT a blueprint for humanity. All of what is in the Bible is a metaphor and nothing more.

You don't, thats why its called faith. I beleive in god, but not I do not think that the bible is a factual book. It probly has some factual base somewhere but how much will never be known. It is a collection of stories that are used to quide people along the right path. Kind of like the old fairy tales, if that is a good comparison. The old fairy tales each have a lesson to learn or moral to be told. Just like the bible, those words were written to teach and show the value of a strong moral belief and faith in something other than oneself.

Nobody doubts the bible. Its a groups of writings that they sorted through and chose to assemble into one book. These writing were all basically similar, why they chose what they chose I cannot answer. Not all writings were included.

I can understand you confusion in regards to religion. Many share your view. I know many spiritual people that don't believe in religion. It would be sad if you didn't even recognize the spirit within you.

Since you've never had the experiance, you would know for a fact that God is real if you had ever been saved. The wonderful feeling comes over you when God's Holy Spirit takes over is something no one can ever ignore or downgrade. You can only discover this by being saved. Remember, you can't fool God. He knows your every thought and action even before you do it.

The point of religion is to control people's behavior. I believe the Bible is true. If you don't that's your choice. But believing makes me a better person, so what does it matter if it is real or myth? Does it matter if I believe murder is wrong because of religion, or for some other reason? Does it matter if it is all myth as long as it controls my behavior in a good way (thou shalt not murder, thou shalt not steal, etc.)?

Would you rather people try to improve themselves because they choose to believe in religion, or because it is forced upon them by "the state". Religion can be abused and used for evil, but at least we have the freedom to choose to believe or not. "The state" can be used for evil, but you don't have the freedom to choose to participate.

The bible is real I have one myself. Who wrote it? Men that have been dead for over two century's. The bible is a remarkable set of books, and letters but contradict mainstream science.
