Two people can eat fairly well for a week on $45, but eating out has to be limited.

Head of lettuce (about a dollr)
Loaf of bread (about two dollars, one if you buy cheapy bread)
Mayonnaise (about two)
A couple of tomatos (about a dollar)
A dozen eggs (about a dollar or dollar and a half)
A bottle of bacon bits (dollar and a half)'
Store brand peanut butter (about a dollar a half)
1/2 American cheese from the deli (two plus change)
or else packaged Am Cheese (two dollars but lots of it)
Small store brand parmesan cheese (one dollar)
Two boxes of pasta (less than two dollars)
Two packages/cans of tuna (about three dollars)
Small amount of celery (about a dollar)
Cheapest tomato sauce you can find (about a dollar or dollar a half)
Half gallon of milk (about two dollars)
Box of store brand cereal (about two dollars)
store brand margarine sticks (about half a dollar)

So far you're up to about $26. This is what you have:

cereal for breakfast, toast with peanutbutter or margarine for breakfast, eggs and toast for breakfast. You have egg salad, tuna salad or friend or scrambled eggs for sandwiches. You also have lettuce, tomato and cheese for sandwiches. You have tomato is you want to stuff them with tuna salad. You have a simple salad if you mix some crushed tomato, mayonnaise and parmesan cheese as a dressing. You can make a big load of pasta and keep it in the refrigerator for a couple of days - pasta with the simple salad for dinner a couple of nights. You have grilled cheese sandwiches with or without tomato. You can put bacon bits on your simple salad or mix them in your pasta or in with your scrambled eggs to make a "bacon and egg" sandwich.

With the amounts I showed above you'll probably have to go back toward the end of the week to pick up a couple more tomatos, another loaf of bread, etc.; so let's say you spend an additional six dollars or so on that stuff.

You'll have another thirteen or so. You can do something like buy a couple of bottles of store brand juices, an inexpensive (less then 2.00) package of some kind of "sweeties" (muffins, cakes, etc). If you get hungry there's always the muffin or cake to take.

You may want to buy a package of store brand crackers for when you get hungry too. Saltines and cheese, saltines and peanutbutter.

Now you may have about six dollars left. I'd get a small thing of cheapy tea bags.

Maybe you could take the few dollars left over and go out for coffee and a munckin halfway through the week.

Other cheap foods you could substitute any of above for:

single cans of soup. any small amount of fresh fruit from the produce department, any small amount of fresh vegetables from the product department, sometimes packages of rolls are on sale . Maybe you'd like rolls instead of a sweety or instead of the crackers.

You may already peanutbutter, margarine, mayonnaise, and stuff like that in; so the above is just a guideline. You won't eat exgtravagantly, but you can eat well. (This plan is for short-term and doesn't promise the best nutrition long-term; but it does promise a little protein and lack of hunger.)

Stick to the grocery store on this one. Even if you eat off the dollar menu every day, that only leaves you with $1 each person for each meal.
The best thing to do is buy some meat, beans, rice, and bread for the week. These things are relatively inexpensive and very filling. Stick to water for drinks (it's free!) and oatmeal for breakfast (very filling). Stick to store brands (it's just for a week) and take advantage of anything you have around the house (canned food, anyone?). Ramen noodles are also nice and cheap!

Good luck!

Woman's Day magazine comes out every 2 weeks, but one of those issues always has a calendar of menus for the entire MONTH - with recipes. Alot of the items are used as leftovers (made over another day); and they are inexpensive meals. You might find it on-line, or pick up an issue at the grocery store next time you're there......I have a year's subscription and it only cost $9 (24 issues)

That's plenty for one week. A box of pasta and some sauce is less than $5 and it'll give you at least two good meals for two people. You can also get yougurt cheap and that's a good breakfast. Sandwich meats, tomatos, and bread make good lunches. Other easy dinners include pizza (buy it from the store or just get a plain large...left overs make a good lunch). Salads are easy to make, cheap and good for you. Chicken isn't that expensive, etc. I'd suggest going through your local store and finding things to make meals. Good luck

You can cancel the bills on-line or call the company! I have paid bills then realized I need to eat and make sure I can get to work so I go back and cancel. You should not be charged for cancellations if the bills are not already late. Otherwise eat a lot of carbs!

Anything with carbs can fill you up. Pasta is good--lasts long and is a good leftover dish too. Rice is also very filling--mix in stuff with rice to get an easy, cheap meal that won't leave you hungry.

Good luck to you! Gotta hate computers sometimes. :)

Do you have a microwave? Store brand mac and cheese, ramen noodles, other cheap microwavable meals. Cereal. Sandwiches. You'll be fine. You might also contact the people you overpaid to see if they can reimburse you.
