Does she refuse to be litter box trained or is something else going on. Many times, if it's a sudden change in behavior, it can be caused by a urinary infection. Is the litter box cleaned daily? Have you changed litter? Sometimes cat's don't like new kinds of litter. Before you get rid of her, remember the people that take her won't want your problems, so there is no telling what they will do with her after a period of time. Could she be an outdoor kitty? At least that way you could keep her.

Clean every place it peed on with very strong detergents , if the place is a rug or anything that can absorb throw it away, because no matter how clean it is the cat will still smell the pee in it. Get the cat the a dust potty & show it by (now I now this is disgusting but u have to do it if u love yr cat) picking up any of yr cat's wastes & puting it over there. Make sure the cat knows it's there & make it smell it. Shock yr cat everytime it pees in a place. I mean u take the cat to the scene of the crime & sprayed it with water or screaming at it. Cats feel that , they even sometimes feel embarassed if u catch them doing it & they understand. Best of luck to u. If all of this doesn't work then send the cat to me lol.

Omg, that happened to our cat. Had to give her away though. Did you take him/her in when you already had cats? If so he/she may just be trying to mark territory because the other cats and it didn't grow up together. So basically it could be a competition of it and another cat of the same gender just trying to mark territory. What you can do if this is the case is put her on Vicadin. That's what our vet had us do so she would calm down and be a bit more mellow. She stopped the peeing for a while, but then she started again so we decided to give it to our friends who didn't have any animals and did just fine. So if you want her to be happy give her to a friend. But you can't go and see the cat regularly. Because the cat could be attached to you and would get uneasy about being without you and would just end up being nervous and peeing everywhere again. I hope that helps.

I would not give her away for the fact that someone else has to deal with her little problem. I would say take her to the vet so they can check her out and see what is wrong with her. I had a cat named ashez and she use to do the same thing. When i 1st got her she didnt do it but right when i was getting ready to move from wa to va she stared doing this. everything was out of my apartmet except what we were sleeping on and she went and peed on my blankets.Eventually after almost a year of pampering her and nurturing her I got sick of having to clean up after her I gave her to the animal shelter. The pee smell will never come out of the padding od the carpet no matter what you do your cat will be able to smell it. once you figure out what the deal is with her, take up old carpet and padding and clean the floors underneath, then get new carpet.

I had a cat with this problem before. I was sick of having to clean up the pee and crap everywhere. I would even sit the cat in the room right by the littler box and it would crap right beside the box. It was getting out of hand so I had to give it away. Im sorry.

yes we have had several. Cats do what is called spraying to mark their territory. Usually when you have your cat neutered that takes care of the problem. Also cats are very clean animals and won't go in a dirty litter box. Even if you think it's clean enough your cat may not. Try cleaning it everyday. If that doesn't work try cleaning it twice a day. Good luck and I hope this helps. I would hate to see you get rid of your baby. E-mail me and let me know if my suggestion works.

No, I have not had this problem. I am like the cat whisperer in a way. Patience, caring, and tough when it comes to training. You need to disipline that cat or get her to a vet, there could be something medically wrong with her. Do not just throw her away. To get rid of the urine smell use Urine Gone, Zero Odor, or Pet Stain Remover.

Once they pee in the house, you're stuck. Your only chance is trying to clean it with an enzyme based cleaner (get it at PetSmart...called Nature's Miracle). It will make it so the cat doesn't smell the pee and hopefully she will stop thinking it's her litterbox. I used it for my puppy and it worked. Didn't know about it when I had the cat, so I'm not sure how effective it is for them, but worth a try.
Good luck!

Is your cat fixed? if not then do it as often thats the cause of urinating in the house. Also many times cats have a urinary tract infection that also makes cats do that. A check up at the vets to make sure its not a health problem causing it.
Clean litterbox at all times try having two where the cat can have easy access to them.
