But last night when I told him playfully and he thought I was serious..he choked on popcorn and said that it was too deep for him. And we had another conversation about it and he said that he doesn't believe in love and he doesn't want to put himself out there to be hurt again. I can't promise him anything but I need to get this off my chest. What do I do?

look obviously he got hurt from love b4 and he's scared it would happen again so he convinces and tells ppl he doesnt believe in it but in reality deep down inside he still does
first step is to make him trust u so much he can tell u anything look this takes time but if u really love him its worth the wait
make him feel safe to tell u anything and never lie to him so he will know ur not like the one who broke his heart
and from there u can see if he has changed or not
if he still says that he doesnt believe in love
don't bring it up don't tell him that u love him then u will scare him away and loose him even as a friend
so stay friends for now and don't freak him out ok?
sorry if u find out he doesnt love u but things like this happen and i know it hurts but not everybody in the worl is going to love everybody that loves them
that would be messed up
and people would loose trust in others fearing they will fall inlove with sombody else!
so don't fee bad ok?!

dump him. you guys can still be friends but if he doesn't want to get in a relationship and if you do that won't work. You guys can still hang out and stuff, but he doesn't sound very dedicated.
