Hey don't worry. I was a freshman last year and in the beginning you are so scared. But I promise you, you will find the place where you fit in, rather it be in clubs, band, or athletics. High School will be the best part of your life. The first day of high school is tough because you hardly know anyone and you are responsible for finding your classes in this giagantic school. But I promise you your first week will be slow and drag on but it will speed up and before you know school will be out again. So enjoy your freshman year because after that you only have 3 more years before college. Go to the pep ralleys and friday night football games they are the best. Just remeber the next four years will be the best time of your life.

I think I might understand where you're coming from, because when I started high school I went from a private school with maybe 75 people total in the secondary grades to a public high school with about 1500 people. 1500 people still isn't that much compared to some high schools, but it terrified me to be in the hall with so many people at the same time, all jostling against each other. However, after a little while, I got used to it, and then I really got to like it because I found friends. Now I wouldn't have gone back to the other school because, in a larger environment, you have more options about what you want to study, who you want to be friends with, and what you want to do for extracurricular activities. My recommendation to you is to get involved with the actitivies at the school that interest you and you'll fit in just fine. Also, all the other kids in your grade are in the same boat, so everybody is probably feeling nervous just like you. Hopefully that'll help you to feel more comfortable reaching out to make friends with others.

It's been a long stime since I was in high school. But just remember everyone else starting will be nervous too. Think of it as excitement and not nervousness.
I liked high school. There are more clubs, to join and people to meet. Just take it slow and follow the rules. People know you are just starting, so they will understand.
Be yourself and make friends. Work hard and enjoy.
I never thought I'd say this (I sound like my parents) but enjoy - you will probably look back at this as a great time in your life!

I'm going to be a freshmen too and I know how you feel. But every single person I talked to all said that high school was really fun, hard yes, but you learn a lot about different subjects and about your friends and about you. So, yeah, I'm scared too, but it'll be ok.

Dont sweat it, freshman year is fun. You might be teased some by the upper classmen, but thats normal and it happens to all of us. Its not that much harder. You are just given more freedom and with that more responsibility. That has been my favorite year so far so enjoy it. Junior year is what you need to watch out for. Thats when you take the SATs and apply for college.

There's nothing to worry about. Just act cool and calm and you'll be cool and calm.
Remember, every other freshman has the same fears! You're not alone!
Good luck.
