I would like to start fresh and completely remove windows XP and reinstall it. I am having all kinds of problems with the present system. It is very very slow, it won't accept the service pack 2 update, Mcafee says it can't delete, quarantine, or remove the malware it finds, I can't run Ad-Aware without the computer restarting mid-scan, etc.

Put the XP CD into your CD drive and reboot the computer
It should boot from the CD and go into the Windows setup
About 4 or 5 screens into it, it will ask if you want to format the drive, tell it yes with NTFS
This will completely remove XP - and everything else - from your computer
Continue the setup and let it reinstall Windows on your PC
