I actually first heard that name on a great movie entitled "The Stoned Age." There was this dude named Tack who was always picking his nose and acting like a moron. They used to refer to him as, "Tack, you cack." I wouldn't recommend naming anyone Tack, for this reason alone.

My sister has a cat named Tack. It's male.
I think it sounds like something you use to stick a poster on your wall. I would definitely not give this name to my kids.

not a good name, do you really want to saddle a child with a weird name like that for the rest of their life? you don't even know if it is a boy or girls name!! why do that to a little kid?
