First of all, you need to take some Ibuprofin (if you're not allergic to it). It will help reduce the swelling and pain.
Second, take a very cool to cold bath--this will help reduce the damage that the burn did to your skin. It will also help with the swelling, pain, and redness. If you can't take a bath, get some ice and rub it on the burned areas.
Third, drink plenty of clear fluids and make sure you're keeping hydrated.
If you have blisters, do NOT pop them. This will not only hurt, but it can leave bad scars. Blisters mean you have at least second degree burns. Not good!
If you have a lot of blisters, especially if you have a fever or the blisters have pus in them, you need to immediately go to the doctor. You probably have sun poisoning. This is very dangerous and can make you very sick.
If your skin is peeling, do not "help" it along...don't peel your skin. That also can cause very bad scarring (I have a big scar on my nose from peeling it as a kid when I had a sunburn--I'm now 35 and the scar is still there!).

Sounds like the sunburn is too sore to touch. When I or anyone in our family is too burnt to touch I put some "Solarcaine" spray on the sunburn and this helps a lot. It's soothing, cooling and antiseptic. I don't think you should put this on if the blisters are broken though.
If you can touch it the very best is the juice from an aloe vera plant.

Oooo sounds like you got a HORRIBLE one! Those bubble things are blisters! I am not sure whether you can do this if you have blisters or not but a friend of mine told me that when you have a sunburn, put vinegar on it. It apparently soothes, feels cool (as in temperature) & helps out when it comes to the peeling stage.

the best thing to use is anything that has alovera in it or a alovera plant, sorry cant spell right so hope you can read this, trust me its the best thing, if you have an alo vera plant in your house tear off a piece of it and use the liquid stuff in side and rub it on your shoulders...i also have heard do not take hot baths because it causes to much pain take cold, but then i hear hot baths take out the burn so not sure on that part, but if you have bubbles on your arms i suggest go to the dr. because it sounds like bad degree burns

I had that once. It is horrible. All I know to do is get some aloe vera and vinegar. Soak in the bath tub with the vinegar and when you get out put the aloe vera on. Wear loose clothing or go naked if you can until it heals. I had them all over my stomach and shoulders and my moms ex-boyfriend slapped me in the stomach. He popped a bunch of them and I almost threw up it hurt so bad.
