Prolly bits of the historical bits are based on true events, but told with a strong religious and political bias.
But the miraculous stuff--I think it's more likely that someone was telling tales.

I think a lot of it is true, but not all of it.
Consider the book of Genesis. Do we know that the Earth took only 6 days to become complete? No. Do we know that the Earth took several millions of years to evolve and is still evolving? No, but the latter theory is more probable. Personally, I believe that as the author of Genesis was writing, he was asking for guidance by God and God was just trying to make things easier on him. Belonging to a much more primitive people than we do today, I would imagine that telling him that the Universe took countless BILLIONS of years to create, he just wouldn't be able to grasp onto such an inexplicable concept. So God maybe just dumbed down the story to a mere 6 days so the author's head would collapse in on itself.
I'm carefully reading through the Bible right now, and I'm already catching a few chronological errors in the events which transpire right now... :S

All the Bible is true. The Bible is divided into dispensations. The obvious one is the O.T. and the N. T. God never changes, however how he deals with man changes. Having an understanding of the context and dispensations will put to rest any concerns that the bible contridicts itself. Some books are written to the Jews, some to the Gentiles. We always have to consider context. It is helpful to have a historical background also. Knowing who wrote and who it was written to will help. The Bible is complete truth!

Well some of it, I suppose. The stories are just made up, but they do sort of provide a good general way to live life well. And most of the historical fact is true. There probably was a flood, but it probably didn't wipe out everyone except Noah and his animals. People probably didn't live to be 500 years old or more.
And most controversially, maybe Jesus didn't actually ascend to Heaven. He is a historical figure, likely did exist, but how does anyone know he rose to Heaven. He may just have been preaching religion creating followers, but noone can really say for sure that he is "God."

Well i think some of it is true but barely any of it. Man will always make the fish seem bigger and after SO MANY years of the bible being handed down...its hard to believe that its 100% TRUE. Its like that game phone. When you reach the last person the word or phrase that the first person said is COMPLELTLEY different.

The Bible has to be all true. It claims to be the word of God. If any part of it is not true, then God is not true.
I am not talking about different word choice in different translations , I am talking about a lie in the Bible.

All of the Bible is true. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness"

The whole bible is true, but you should take everything literal! You can't believe that only part of it is true. Either it is all true or all false!
