higher the better! richer the color will be! Plasma has the best contrast Ration. Next is the LCD up with DLP.

10,000:1 is Plasma
4000:1 is LCD and DLP

It's the ratio between the luminance of the brighest (typically white) and darkest (typically black) colors that a display can render. Typically, the higher the contrast ratio, the better.
