Was it from an ear infection or a puncture?

I had an ear infection and it was the worst pain I had ever felt in my life.I couldn't go to sleep and stayed up all night. When my ear drum busted a liquid started to drain out of my ear and I couldn't hear through that ear at all.The pain only worsened when liquid started to come out.

this is clearly an eardrum burst. the pressure of fluids in the ear built up because there was an ear infection. the pain as you know is excruciating. you may notice some temporary loss of hearing in that ear, but take care of it (go see a dr. and get some antibiotics) and it will heal. make sure the dr. gives you the right kind of antibiotics

Mine hasn't but my mom's has. She had a horrible ear infection when she was younger & back in those days an old wives tale cure was sweet oil. My grandma put some in my mom's ear & then she laid down to take a nap on a slightly warm heating pad. BAD IDEA! She woke up w/ the pad soaked in blood & now has a hole in her eardrum & can't hear as well out of that ear. Btw, have you gone to the doctor about yours & what you just described there? If not then you need to go ASAP!!!!!
