It shows distrust if your girlfriend goes through your cellphone. Plus a guys phone is like his own personal filing space, you don't want to take the chance of someone screwing it up, even if it's someone you love.

How would you feel if your b/f went through your purse without your permission? It's a respect thing. Also, I have text messages on mine to my girlfriend that I write but have no intentions of ever really sending.

Do you let guys go thru yours? It's like a digital wallet with info that doesn't concern you. I had my moms # under her first name and all I got was who the hell is G and what are you doing with HER #, one of your OTHER g/f's??? Maybe now you can understand and may I rifle thru your purse?

there's nothing private, but it's a respect thing. my mother has always taught me not to get into her purse. to this day ( i'm 27 ) i won't get in my wifes purse even if she tells me to. i'll bring it to her. i don't expect her to get into my wallet either. i think it goes both ways, it's respect for ones privacy
