That's just about average for a Cali car that's 5 years old. How carefully it has been maintained is the key. With proper care, 75,000 miles is less than 1/3 of the mileage that a modern car can travel without major problems.

It's got a clean Carfax report. If it's in otherwise good shape and the price is reasonable it looks like a "GO" to me.

depends of the car, year and mileage to get the price and ultimately how much you want to spend. a mercedes compared to a nissan for instance with the same mileage, year, etc will have a very different price. Now the mileage is not all you have to check for, the overall condition matters a lot, 20k on a car that is beat up is not worth it vs. a car with 120k in good condition. Look for something around 70k to 130k depending on the price or what you can afford. Also newer cars can take a lot of mileage 200k or 300k and they still run good. Highway miles vs city miles means nothing, miles are miles or how would you know where the car was driven? Facts are facts if the car meter say 100k then 100k it is.

It depens on price, most modern cars will run well over 200,000 miles. Never needing engine or a tranny. I break cars down to Price paid vs miles drive. I like cheaps cars with correct mileage it has worked out well for me.

I look for a car that is driven at least 15,000 -20,000 miles a year that has been properly maintained. A car with less than that tends to do short trips or sit a lot which is the death of a car.

Short trips are hard on a motor because it doesn't have time to reach proper operating temp and burn off water from the oil and work the motor in properly. Sitting equals death for a car, rubber seals dry out, oil turn to acid, gaskets dry up.

At 100,000 miles a car has been broken in. 75,735 miles...that depends on the care of the car. Did they do preventive maintenance? As in did they get an oil change regularly? Are those highway miles or city driving? What kind of car?How many owners.of the car previous to you? These are all factors when deciding. If you do test drive it make sure you "dog the heck out of it". :) Also make sure you drive it in reverse. Make sure you know where all the strange new sounds are coming from before purchase. Good luck.

Basically you want to aim for about 12,000 miles a year. Also, what type of car you are buying plays a big part. For instance I bought a 2001 Toyota with 80,000 miles, a bit high, but not a big deal for a toyota...

It depends on the year, make, and model of the car. You should guess about 12k miles per year of age. Some cars are great at 75k. Some will only make it to 100k before you have trouble.

if the car is only 2 or 3 years old 75k isn't too bad...highway miles are the best. but you also have to look at things like maintenance. did they get oil changes, did they get the belts changed, etc.

Not if they're highway miles. If it's just puttering around, It could be.
