There are different bibles (Quoran, Tourah, King James, Catholic Bible, etc.) some have two books, some have one, some have several.....each of these holy works were done by people, from family stories, from their own perceptions, all kinds of people, some stories and information was lost, some was corrupted as people left their religion and branched off, some books are in different languages with different meanings, some books were changed as they were rewritten and things omitted, and these books are not the same. What the truth is is anyone's guess. I found it different when I heard "once a Jew, always a Jew" and no one can join to become a Jew because it is a nationality and not a religion. But anyway, there are "Jews for Jesus" now and they believe in both their nationality and the christian religion. Confusing, isn't it. Seems everyone takes on their own religion. Even in centuries ago people believed what the ruler of their country believed or they were taken out behind the barn.

Jesus didn't do what the Jews at the time of his living thought the Messiah was supposed to do (deliver them from their captors, the Romans). The Muslims believe in Jesus, they just don't believe he is the ultimate prophet (God's last and greatest teacher before He lets us alone and decide on what has been written already) but rather that Mohammed is because Mohammed gave teachings too and came after Jesus.
There is also the belief among some that Jesus wasn't born of a virgin. That there is the possibility (though I don't believe this myself) that she was raped by a Roman soldier and Jesus was conceived at that time of human parents. Mary ashamed continued to say she was a virgin, and Joseph's subconscious mind believed it because he couldn't bear the thought that Mary either cheated or that he couldn't protect her, so his mind came up with a dream in which God talks to him and says Mary was a virgin and Jesus is not a love child. Which is certainly possible though I don't believe it myself.
So Jews that don't believe in Jesus can and do have reasons for believing he wasn't who he said he was. But you must use the bible and above all reason to bring them to Christianity if you believe it to be the right choice. But remember reason and peace and make sure you have the right choice for sure before turning people to it, and don't expect a lot of them to agree.

Because three men wrote Isaiah - First Isaiah, Second Isaiah, Third Isaiah. Only Orthodox Jews believe in a messiah. The more sensible ones don't believe that some pie-in-the-sky will come save them.

Partial Blindness until the fullness of the Gentiles comes In
The rest of Israel were blinded (Rom11:7-8 below) to the truth that Jesus is the Messiah.
At the Sixth SEAL (Re.6:12-17), when the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, Israel will know that Jesus is the Messiah (Rom.11:25 below).
Rom.11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded (Rom.11:25 below)
Rom.11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Rom.11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel (Rom.11:7-8 above), until the fulness of the Gentiles (1 Thess.4:5, Eph.2:12) be come in.

I believe, that the old testiment also said his own people would not recognize him as the Messiah. I remember reading it in the old testiment, but for he life of me I forgot where in the old testiment that it said that.
I'm going to have to spend some time, and try to find that passage in the old testment.
What the Jews also fail to realize is that the old testment was mainly about prophasies, and the new testment was the fullfillment of those prophacies, and went on to also prophici about what was to come. invovling not only the jews, but the gentiles as well. Christ made it abundently clear, that he came to earth to save all people from their sins, not just the jews.
I think that that may be part of the problem, since the Bible talks about the Jews as being his chosen people. So when Christ said he came to save us all, the Jew felt that since they were God's chosen, that the message should have been just for them, and not for all the people.
He also had some very harsh words about the Scribes, and Pharesys, and how hypicritical they were. Since you obviously know your Bible, you should know that they didn't take kindly to Christ's criticisms at all.
There were a number of factors, that caused them to turn on Jesus, and deny Him. They thought He would declare his kingdom on earth, but if you recall, He made it very clear that his kingdom was not of this earth. and that went completely against what they believed.
I myself am a Christian, but I am not a Jew. I hope this helps you in some way. Please contact me through 360, if you are a member. I would very much like to have some conversations with you. I think that we might get along very well. Please consider it.
Please forgive my terrible spelling, as the spell check is not working at present.

You are a reformed Jew, which is a good thing!! The numbers are getting bigger, with more Jews believing in Jesus. It is opening up a whole new world to you, where you have a chance to be saved!! Jesus IS the Messiah, as told in Isaiah!

David,
You are a christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades christianity.

on the side, the subject of Isaiah 53 is promised a "long life" and "seed" (i.e. physical children). clearly this isn't about jesus.
and isaiah 7 is clearly not messianic if you read the whole chapter. and "alma" doesn't mean virgin either. You'd know that if you spoke hebrew (I guess it wasn't part of your "extensive jewish upbringing", huh?)

That's good for you.
As for the rest, they limit access to what they consider "false prophets" and even in Chritianity you know that's a true statement.
Let them be!
Live you own life!

Jew. The word is Jew. You won't go to hell for using the word. Surely you know the word -- it's used over and over in your New Testament describing those vicious people who will sizzle in hell when Jesus comes back to exact his vengeance.
