It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone -- but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
Trying to forget someone you loved is like trying to remember someone you never knew
you never really stop loving someone. you just learn to try to live without them, as sad and as bad as it seems.
Life goes on and so should you, as hard and as sad as it seems.
I understand how you`re feeling, just give it time.

All very sensitive answers. I'm going through same sense of feeling someone's died over my ex; you could look at a couple of my questions and answers. Two books I'd recommend are Bloomfield, Harold H et al: How to Survive the Loss of a Love; Webber, Christine: How to Mend a Broken Heart.

I trust the wonderful authors of the first book will not mind me quoting this:

When an emotional injury takes place,
the body begins a process
as natural as the healing
of a physical wound.

Let the process happen.
Trust the process.
Surrender to it.

... and tell yourself often, "I am alive. I will survive."

Poor you, it's always awful to lose someone you care about.

The pain will stop eventually though. There's no quick and easy solution, you just have to live through it unfortunately. Keep yourself busy enough to take your mind off it but not so much that you don't grieve for it.

Eventually you WILL feel better and will be able to get back out there and look for someone else.

You will feel better I promise!

You may be hurt now but things will get better they always do even though its seems like you will be hurting for the rest of your life.

Just try and make the best of the things that you have and then everything else will eventually fall into place

Hope you feel better soon

xx

You've had some excellent advice here, no point in me saying it all over again, just:

Give yourself time
Keep yourself busy
Understand that your life goes on
You're not the first and you won't be the last
Stay calm and don't do anything your might regret.

Good luck

Sometimes the hurting never does. What i would do is stay friends with her. That way you can still do things with her and maybe it won't hurt as bad.

Give yourself two years. Took me that long to get over my ex-husband. Maybe less.
