Why would being Goth preclude one from being a Christian?
What one wears, the music, literature and poetry one likes has no bearing on ones spirituality.
Christians are often very quick to point out that being a Christian is not a religion but rather it is a relationship with god. I fail to see how being goth could preclude having a relationship with god (Yahweh).

There are plenty of very devout Christian goths. One of my best friends is a nice goth guy, who's devoutly Catholic and attends bible study every week. There is nothing about being goth that would keep you from being Christian. Goths just see the evil in life as well as the good, what they do from that point is up to them. You might what to check out www.christiangoth.com or www.gothicchristianity.com to get more information.

Judge not that ye be not judged, for the judgement you judge shall be judged unto you, and the measure you meet shall be met unto you.
Christians are MANY things. Some like Gothic, some like Sci-Fi, some like Romance... Is it possible to be a Christian Romantic?
Don't judge people by how they look. God uses people of all kinds to reach people. Jesus drank wine in bars to make the people feel more comfortable with Him so that he could teach them a better way. If you think wine is GRAPE JUICE, think again. Read the original Greek writings. The word they use is FERMENTED wine.
If Jesus were here today, you would be more likely to find Him hanging out in bars, maybe smoking a joint with some pot-heads, wherever there was a need, there He went.
Many of the churches today have become like the Scribes, Pharisees, and Saducees. They have become so bogged down in the rules that they have forgotten the SPIRIT of the law, and thus, the Holy Spirit. You may hate me for this, but they hated Jesus for the same reasons, so I feel I'm in good company.
God bless you.

Sure. Goths have their origins in the early Christian Visigoths of Germany, and religion is meant to be celebrated in most aspects of the Goth culture. It's only the branches that involve stuff like Marilyn Manson and vampirism that I think Christianity is against.

I guess the only one to really know that answer is God. Personally I don't see why not...perhaps she is someone who can balance her lifestyle with her faith quite comfortably and isn't affected by the assumptions, remarks or refusals that may come from others who can't imagine such a mixture.
My thought would be, why would true Christians question or denounce someone who doesn't quite conform to the "look" of a Christian...and why would looks have anything to do with ones Faith or group of faiths?
Some of the most serene and wonderful people I know have combined their faith taking from other faiths or lifestyles, and have enhanced their lives. To each his own, and as the saying goes, "don't judge a book by it's cover", still stands. She could very well be one of the most incredible people a Christian has ever met and someone whos Christian foundation is strong, sturdy and complete. Hard to say.

Goth is such an overused term for so many different types of peoples. Again, stereotyping. But yet, people believe that dressing black and wearing crucifixes means your goth. I wouldn't say I am, at this moment, I am wearing all black and have many crucifixes on me...hmmm and I'm an athiest. Just as commonly misunderstood as "goth's" being satanists, and then again people believing that satanists are devil worshippers.

Well I have heard ministers of nearly every major christian denomination denounce the GOTH look and life. So with its glorification of death and negative imagery id say I would imagine it'd be very difficult to be an "accepted chrisitan Goth"

Goth is just a style... I used to be Goth back in the day. It is not a prerequisite to worship satan or the dead or pretend to be a vampire (though I was intrigued by vampires) to wear the clothes or hair or like loud music. If your friend is worshipping satan or doing witchcraft and the like then no, they're not a Christian but assuming that someone cannot be a Christian if they like goth, is like saying someone MUST be a Christian if they like dress clothes.

Last I checked Goth was just a style and fad of music and dress. These people are attempting to imitate the Gothic period where Rome was sacked..... I don't really think any of these kids were there for that.
Art imitates Life, but doesn't replace it.
