I have a daughter that is getting married at 20 in Oct.and i worry that she is too young,I have another daughter that is 26 and hardly ever dates, she is a workaholic and i worry that she will never find that right someone and get married and have a family because most men have been married and divorced with kids to keep up and can't afford trying it again, maby that's what your mother is afraid of! She doesn't want to see you left alone if something happens to her.I know because I'm a single dad and i know if something happens to me the 26 yr.old wouldn't have anyone,I guess that's just being a parent and hoping for the best for your girls,I don't worry about my son i know he can take care of himself,he is raising his daughter by himself, for some reason i don't worry about my son but i do about my daughters,it must be nature for us parents to worry about our children,I really hate to see the youngest,20, leave home because I'll be alone then but she is marring a good man,at least i think he is.your mother knows that finding a husband that will really love you and be true is harder as you get older because most of the young men have already been married and have a family else where but don't jump into a marriage that your not sure of because its very hard these days to have a happy lasting home and family.Don't be too hard on your mother for wanting the best for you, good luck and God bless you and yours.

You have to realize that your parents are from a different age. When they were young people only lived to be 70, not 80 so if you didn't get married soon you were missing out on a chance for that longer term relationship. And not only that but when they were growing up the average life span was in the 60's so her mindset may actually be that point. Remember, she is just doing it because she loves you.

probably when your mom was younger it was the age that people got married. now times have changed and ladies are getting married at older ages. it is perfectly normal. you will just have to keep reminding her that, you are not ready for marriage yet. and with the divorce rate as high as it, i don't blame you. you need to make sure that you have your sole mate before you even think about getting married.
i bet that your mom just wants to make sure that you are happy, and taken care. but these days, many women are taking care of themselves.
i say, go out , enjoy your youthfullness, travel, and most of all have fun.

Parents raise their children to leave home and make a family of their own. That's the meaning of life.

Two is we want you to move out and stay out, the best chance for that is if you have your own family and a good one.
