Listen to your Mom. She is not saying no to be mean, she worries about what could possibly happen. And there is ALOT that can go wrong. In addition to all the other answers, there is a possibility of your tongue swelling and you could choke to death. There is the possibility of infection, which could lead to part of your tongue having to be cut off. If that happens, you can't eat, drink or speak properly. I side with your mom - Don't do it!

There's no way, no how I would let my kid get their tongue pierced, unless they could show me they had the money saved to pay for the dental bills if their tooth broke.
But seriously, don't just get your friend to do it for you. If you're going to do it, you need to go to a professional that has proper sanitization methods, or you'll be in serious risk for infections.

well one thing is for sure, piercing a tounge is hard, you have to put it exactly in the right place or it could pierce a main blood vessel that if they accidently hit it could make you bleed to death and you dont want that, so if you get it done do it proffesionaly only ok! but then you have to have your mothers permission to and to get her permission you have to have good reasons why she should let you, i dont know why your mother said no but i bet that she has good reason why. when you get it done it bleeds alot and skin pieces start falling off cause its dead skin and your tounge is swollen for like ever like a week at least, and you cant eat anything but like soups for like two weeks, you have to leave it in for like over a month like two months before your aloud to take it out, you have to twist it three times a day even if it hurts, and clean it with this stuf they give you at least twice a day, it is not fun at all.

Think about what a tongue ring would do to your teeth and mouth. If you still want it then go to your mother and talk to her. If she says no then try another approach with her and if she still says no then you have to wait until you are 18 years old.

you lesson to your mom. when you move out and turn 18. then you should have it done. you live with mom and she the adult. when you get it done it hurts. you can't eat anything. for awhile. it chips your teeth. it's not a good idea. so i would lesson to your mom she knows best. when you have your own kid you will thank your mom. later.

Don't let your friend do it. You can just get it and then she can't say anything about it. That is how I got mine done and my lip and my belly button and my 10 ear peircings and my tatoos. Hope that helps.

You're not and you shouldn't. Damage to your teeth can be really bad, not to mention infection (and do you want that?) It doesn't help your beauty and you will undoubtedly regret it after you break your first tooth or get it caught on something you don't want it caught on. I would forget it.
