If she's younger than 17 you can try talking about her Internet usage and be a good and caring dad. If she's older than 17 you ask her for it. And if she says no, too bad. Why are you trying to invade her privacy? I know there are many people out there trying to take advantage of others on the net. But over controlling your daughter isn't the answer. Teaching her about life and the net is your best bet. Trust is the most precious thing between you and your family.

um if she is under 18 then i would write yahoo and tell them that you want to put some sort of parental control on her yahoo sight including her instant messanger IM, and they will get you the passowords and things that you need, just tell them that you did not give her permision to have this stuff, but that you decided that as long as you can check in on what she is doing you decided it was ok. they might ask you for some identification sent to them to make sure you are the father or something i guess or a social security number but they should be able to help you.

Ask her for it, or catch her while she's putting it in and watch which keys she hits. Or you could buy one of those programs that record every keystroke, yadda yadda. However, having her password at all might seem to her as an invasion of privacy- why do you want it? Talk to her about internet safety, if you're really worried. You might even try talking to one of her (trustworthy) friends.

What you need is a keylogger. You can find one of these off the internet. Install it on the computer that she is using. Run it in the background, next time she types in her username and password, it will show up in the log.

Try this...
Click where it says, I forgot my password. Then answer the password questions and see if it takes. However, you would need to know her user ID.
Good luck.

If she finds out you know her password, it'll take you a while to earn back her trust.
