Personally, I don't think they are true christians if they call non-christians names and belittle them. I always thought christians were supposed to do good and be good to all. While they may not understand why others don't believe as they do, it gives them no right to treat people badly. And it goes the other way, too. Non-christians should not badmouth christians, either. It's up to an individual what or who they believe in or don't believe in and other people should mind their own business.

In that question, you are sort name-calling. I'm not trying to be harsh in anyway just hear me out. Yeah, alot of christians do get a little high and mighty, but it goes both ways. i have posted ?'s and saw a lot of atheists reply in some truely hateful ways. I understand there is alot of disagreement between the two parties, however, we have to remember, above all else we are all humans, people who, no matter what we believe, deserve to be treated with respect. I am no better than any person and please do not misinterpret what I am trying to convey. There is alot of strief and grief going on between these two groups, but that is not how it should be. We are supposed to build each other up, not knock everyone down that disagrees with us. Unfortunatly there is alot of the latter going on. All I can say, is don't be like the world. When you see wrong being done, stand for what you believe in without trying to force your views on someone else. We all know one will not change the others mind. So treat your fellow man how you would want to be treated, and don't worry about the rest of the World.
God Bless (not to affend), and if I do forgive me but some day you will understand

i think so, if people have some one to point their finger at, it usually means they can avoid looking at their faults, so they feel better. you know like in elementary school when cool kids click up on other kids and make fun of them, there clothes, being poor etc. name calling is the same at any age it's about insecurity isn't it? I'm mean the thought of them ( religious people) all being wrong must freak them out some

The entire purpose of name calling is to make yourself feel superior and the other guy inferior, you good-for-nothing worthless, piece of s**tty, hell-bound, stinky non-Xtian jerk! Holy Xrist! That feels good! I bet you feel bad. But that's how name-calling works as a practical example.

Usually when anyone belittle and call people bad names, it makes them feel bigger. Too bad the opposites true!
But seriously, I think that they do it not realizing that they are being offensive. Most Xians are harmless and will back off if you ask them nicely (at least in my experience).

They already feel superior, so taking a condescending attitude towards non-christians is just a natural progression.

Are you kidding me? Have seen some of the vial garbage that has been thrown at us here? Yet we don't come here and whine about it. We take it as part of the territory and we consider the source.
