For those of you who think I am a moron or whatever. It was possible to order them from Canada until a few years ago, I am wondering if there is another country that will allow this.

That loophole has basically been closed. It used to be that you could order contacts as long as you knew your scrip and they wouldn't check. Now there's a Federal law that requires all contact lens companies that sell to customers in the U.S. to call your optometrist/opthalmologist and confirm the prescription. They also confirm that the scrip is current, so if your scrip is over a year old, you'll have to go back and get another exam.

Ordered mine from Optical Institue.com. They don't ask for a prescription, just takes like two weeks to get them. So far that is the only place that I have been able to find that is trust worthy.

Mean people make mean little comments--ignore them, they are idiots.

Before you order your contacts by mail, SEE BELOW.
It is a link to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration fact page.
It has good information.
Then investigate some websites that sell contacts.
Best wishes on getting good results by mail order!

How do you know the strength of the contacts? If you know what the strength is and have a doctor to verify, 1-800-contacts.

You have to have a RX for contacts. You can go to the optometrist, get an exam & tell him you want the RX. Alot of Drs. don't wanna give it to you cuz they want you to buy contacts from them but its actually against the law for them to refuse to give it to you. Go to 1-800-contacts on the web, there is info on there as to what to do if he refuses to give it to you & also they have good deals on contacts by mail.

No, I dont think thats possible. You need a prescription to get something that can only be prescribed

I am an optician, I can say by law, you have to have an RX. This is controlled like drugs at your local Rite Aid. BUT, if you go to a beauty supply house in a bad area of town, sometimes you can get non-RX colors. It still not legal.
