YES, IT MAY BE PERCEIVED AS RUDE.

A "GUEST" SHOULD NOT INSULT THE COOK.

I have no idea at all what you mean by your family took a "bad Idea about him" and he (he who?) "embarassed me".

First of all, you didn't say your age.
Secondly, if it was a serious matter they would not have "taken" him to lunch they would have had lunch at home for the four of you to chat.

Seems like your parents just wanted to take a look at your bf and check out his manners.

The boy is honest. What is wrong with that? If everything else about him is OK, what is the big deal? I would rather have a man who is honest about things as basic as FOOD than one who would lie about anything.

Yeah I guess it was embarrasing to say that. Maybe he was too nervous and he made that mistake...you can't judge a person for one thing he did and it was embarrasing. Your parents have to give him another chance.

It's courtesy, not honestly that's important here. If he was courteous he would have said that the food was good and that he liked it, he was invited to the lunch, he should be more appreciative.

He was being honest to his taste. But your family shouldn't take it so serious. You have to get to know a person and if they can't tell you the truth, there is know need in talking at all.
