The standard answers from Christians as to why people don't believe the many outrageous stories in the bible such as people living for 9,000 years, creation of planets and stars in 7 days, and humans ressurecting from the dead is:

"They are afraid that if God is real they have to stop sinning"

What sins do Christians think that Athiests desire to commit so much that they will change their entire world view? I'm curious.

Thinking. Thinking still is a sin in Christianity, isn't it?

The first sin was getting knowledge from the Tree, and "Except ye be converted, and become as little children [unthinking little fools who swallow what they are told]." I think that must be it.

By definition, athiests do not recognize sin as defined by any religious scripture or dogma. Therefore athiests are free from sin.

Baptists teach "once saved, always saved," so if sinning without penalty was my goal, I sure screwed up by becoming an atheist.

I was home free regardless what I did as a Baptist.

I would guess most Atheists aren't in it so they can sin, they're just disenfranchised with the standard views and beliefs.
