If your question is in regard to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (LDS)....the Mormons, then basically....

There are 3 degrees of glory or kingdoms in heaven. In descending order they are:

- Celestial (higest)
- Terrestrial
- Telestial

I won't go into detail except to say that to enter the Celestial Kingdom, in addition to other requirements also necessary to enter the other 2 kingdoms, you must have received the temple endowment and be married for all time and eternity to another member of the church.

Like all religions, I say religions and not cults...got it?.......much of what we do in our temples is sacred, not secret.

As always for more information you can contact you local LDS missionaries or go to www.lds.org if care to just read about the differences without meeting with the church missionaries. I realize that most people would rather check out the church website.

It is now widely believed that Joseph Smith stole the description of the three heavens from Swedenborg.

Swedenborg says that heaven is divided into two kingdoms the Celestial Kingdom and Spiritual Kingdom and also into three heavens, the Celestial, Spiritual and Natural heaven.

People are arranged according to their loves.

Paul mentions the "third heaven" in the Bible in perhaps the only place this phenomenon is mentioned in the Bible.
