I have tomatoe paste, vinegar, brown sugar, spices, onion garlic......do I need anything else and how do I make it?

I usually go here to find good recipes on almost anything and they have pretty good recipes for ketchup with different variations.

Ingredients

1 cn 5 1/2 oz tomato paste
1/4 c Packed brown sugar
1/4 c Water
2 tb Cider vinegar
1/4 ts Dry mustard
1/4 ts Cinnamon
1 pn Cloves
1 pn Allspice


Instructions

1. In jar or bowl, combine all ingredients, mix well. Cover and store in refrigerator for up to 1 month. Makes about 1 cup.

Your question reminds me of a story my uncle told me when he was employed at a local Heinz 57 factory . According to him they use to put bugs , rats , and all in with the tomatoes when they made ketchup ! So maybe one of those is the missing ingredient !

The ingredients you listed sound about right- I would put it all in a food processor or blender and drizzle in the vinegar until it looks like the right consistency.
