Our puppy is 6 months old and she absolutely cannot be by herself at all. I understand she needs lots of attention and we give her plenty. We take her for walks everyday and play with her when were home, but if we leave the room to even go to the bathroom shes right at the door whining until she can come in or we come out. She has to constantly be right next to me and my bf 24/7. Please Help!

You needs to leave her alone so she learns to deal with it. Do not make a fuss when you leave and do NOT make a fuss over her when you return. Some say put her in another room...if she starts fussing go tell her "no" and immediately leave again. If she is quiet for a while go tell her she is good. Also I recommend a crate to avoid her getting into anything she shouldn't when left alone.

leave the tv/radio on.
teach her "NO" and say it LOUD when she starts her whining.
I used the "shaker bottle" (empty vitamin bottle with 2 pennies in it, lid sealed back on)--I'd leave, wait by the door until pup started with the whining and barking, then I'd burst thru the door hollering out "NO!" very loudly while shaking the bottle (it's noisy!). He got the picture real quick--took only a few times to get him to be quiet.

ALso, very important, when you do leave, and then come back--DO NOT make a big fuss over the dog!!!!

She needs a teddy bear cuddly toy, a blankie and a ticking clock. If you can get a pillow with a ticker in it, so it sounds like a heartbeat, she might like that.

I had a Boston once who would jump in the shower with me if I didn't lock the bathroom door!

SHES A PUPPY AND AT HER AGE STILL NEEDS THE SECURITY OF A "MOMMY" A BLANKET OR A COUPLE STUFFED ANIMLAES SHOULD HELP, BUT LIKE MOST PUPPIES SHE WILL FOLLOW YOU AROUND TO WATCH WHAT YOU ARE DOING NOW.
