Everyone fears death because no one really and truly knows what follows death. Some religions and some people will try to tell you all about it, but they are talking after reading books and really don't have any more real experience than you do. However, having said that, it is also true that none of us will get out of here alive. Death is the end of life and fully as much a part of life as birth. Fear of the totally unknown is normal. I just hope that you won't let that fear rule your life. The only people who are absolutely sure are mentally deficient, much like Muslim suicide bombers

Nothing strange about your fear. Sounds like you're a young person realizing your own potential mortality for the first time. Just remember that we ALL have to get off the ride sooner or later. Nobody gets away without "crossing over." Here's one idea that helped me: if you found out you only had a day to live, then are you doing what you really want to be doing? If the next act you were to do was to be your last act on this Earth, would it be what you'd want to be remembered for? With that philosophy in mind, you learn never to take anything TOO seriously, and yet at the same time everything in life becomes all the more special. Welcome to the human condition! And, fear not. You'll do just fine. And you're not alone: William Shatner has the same fear of death as you. He spoke of it once in an interview.

no. actually, I happen to be in a similar situation. What part of "after" are you afraid of? I think I can accept whatever "after" is-- so long as there IS an after.
I'm most afraid of the lack of afterlife.
Reincarnation is fine with me. but I just don't want to cease to be. It would be frightening to merely "cease to exist" after death.
I'm fine with the other possibilities though-- heaven, hell, ghosts, reincarnation-- so long as we move on & don't just disappear.
I, too am 15, although not for much longer, however. I think the reason you may be terrified of it is because you're overthinking it at too young of an age. When you're young, sometimes the world is so much more simple-- unadulterated by the bullshit that adults learn about. Thinking about death in those, simple terms seems much harder than thinking about it when you realize-- sometimes life sucks a ss. Death isn't that bad when you have chronic illnesses, or are in constant pain. Grade school doesn't always teach you all the harsh realities of life-- believe me, I think I'd know.
We're all going to die, some sooner than others, but hope this helps with that fear. Death should not be avoided, but sought to be understood.

it isn't unhealthy to be afraid of death , many many people are .. but it can become unhealthy if it is taking over your every day thoughts like an obsession .. which my sister is going through right now
you still have a long life to lead sweetheart and you are so young to worry about this especially if it is the what comes after part
you can look at it two ways though ... if nothing comes after life then you would not know any different you just wouldn't wake up again
if there is an after life then its going to be a wonderful journey in a new place
unless you have done terrible things which at 15 i doubt very much .. then what is there to fear...even those who have done terrible things i don't feel are punished in an eternal hell .. but are helped to see the error of their ways with lessons and healing
start living babe instead of worrying .. have fun and love to you xxx

When I was a teen and even before that, I was scared of death. I had nights were I was afraid to go to sleep. It's just a part of life. The fear of the unknown. I'm 27 now and I am not afraid of dying because I now know, it's a part of life.

It is rather unhealthy. I never thought of death - it was denial - I always assumed death was something that would happen much later. Turned 21, and one day when I was really curious about what happened after death (I was in very deep thought about just death) a little sentence kind of floated into my head - and it felt like a scarf flying in the air
"well you're eventually going to find out yourself."
And from there I was inspired and still feel very uplifted when I think of death. I was so worried about what came after, and about what everyone was telling me. People from all over the world try to tell you whats going to happen to YOU after death... and they always sound so positive and like they REALLY know.
But no one does.
Not ONE person in this world knows what happens after death.
NO ONE!!
But, you will find out.
I will find out.
I *will* know what happens after death. That's exciting.
So, it doesn't matter what people say is going to happen. I'm not scared of it. It's going to come, I **will** die. I *will* know, first hand experience, what thousands of millions of people have found out, first hand.
Until then, I have other things to do here in life.

It's normal to be scared of death. Everyone is to some extent. It's when this fear is keeping you from enjoying stuff you normally do and is getting in the wayu of your day today routine that it gets to be a problem. I figure dying is something I have no control over so I choose not to worry about it.

It is a common fear. It is the fear of the unknown. Most people spend their entire lives trying to deal with this issue rather than just living life and not thinking about it continually. I can say through a lot of effort, I am as comfortable with the idea of my own death as a human being can get. And that's not totally comfortable.

Dear Young Friend,
The patterns of our Universe reveal a benevolent energy, not a capricious, punishing male being “that” is propounded by organized religion.
Therefore, you have nothing to fear. Please rest assured that the Universe works for your best interests. This love-intelligence brings together events for your highest good.
Think about it….
Would the creative presence behind the scenes be so insecure that it would be concerned about punishing anyone?
May you feel peace about your future, both in this life and in the next reality. A grand adventure awaits you! I bless you on your journey.
