I don't think any of the national chain pizza places are really that great. The best places are local ones, but you have to do a lot of research or get good recommendations from your friends (who know decent pizza when they eat it). I used to live in Chicago, and we had a wonderful place within walking distance of home. I do miss it.
In the alternative, you might do what we do, which is to get a Boboli crust and make your own. You can put on exactly the ingredients you want, and in exactly the amounts you want. And it's ready exactly when you want. And you don't have to tip the driver.
If you don't like (or cannot find) Boboli pre-made crusts, try Afghan bread. It's also quite good.

I find that the best pizza usually comes from a little known local place, rather than a big chain.
My favorite is Wick's-which is located in my hometown. Pizza so good, I dream about it.
If I have to choose a chain, I say Papa Johns. The crust is really good there, not greasy.

Before I even clicked on this question, I knew the smug ppl would bash the chain pizzerias. They never answer the question, they just bash because they think they know better than you. I like PIZZA HUT personally but the dominos guy here hooks me up with good deals so, ive been ordereing from them lately.

Dominos & pizza huts alright, but if I had to choose Papa john would offer a better choice into good pizza.

well here in my home town, theres a place called Rocky's Pizza, and let me say its the best damn pizza Ive ever had. And I ve been around.
