Religions provide hope to the poor so they don't uprise against the authority in charge. By them tying things to any god that can't be proven they tacitally keep providing the masses with hope that a god could exist which by the way science has demonstrated that everything is a natural process and no god exists!

Even without religion you can tell that there is a God some sort of spirit that watches over us. Do you really believe in the Big Bang? Everything that's in place, the perfection of the placement of the stars. . . . there has to be a God.

If they can successfully tie things to a god or goddess, then they can start a church, get followers and take their money from them. That seems to be the main function of churches. If you don't think so, fall behind in your so called tithing and see how quickly someone from the church calls you

Because it makes perfect sense that there was a Creator behind this universe.
Why do atheists want to tie things we cannot yet explain to ... nothingness?

For the same reason science side steps land mines.
Go ask a scientist WHERE, exactly, the MASS of the Universe came from! Ask them how this MASS got created and if at one point there was NOTHING in the UNVERSE. Not ONE electron, not ONE positron. NOTHING. VAST NOTHING.
See if you get a straight answer!

Because they have taken the concept of God & Jesus on faith, they can then take other things that you just can't explain on faith and attribute it to God. That is also why people want to believe in miracles. A chance to justify their faith.

that is the nature of religion...to have a common list of explanations to the unexplainable. faith, belief, all such intangible things keeps some people's brains from leaking out one side of their heads. Of course it is the primary cause of human strife since society formed, but I guess that's the price you pay.

because people are afraid of things they dont understand.....because they feel safe with their religion they try to tie it to it as if to say that it was given by god and had to be because it has no explanation
