I think if you "follow" or "practice" what you have written- You would be a very wonderful person to be around and one of great knowledge! Explanation of what you asked above for others:
1. Knowing you don't know is wholeness: Means u are strong enough to admit you are not a know-it-all and can accept being taught.
2. Thinking you know is a disease: You are unwilling to be told or shown anything because YOU ALREADY KNOW. And since you do-- you Spread your knowledge around even if it's not wanted. And are probably a controlling person.
3. Only by recognizing that you have an illness can you move to seek a cure: If you are smart enough to realize you have faults or vices or habits and seek professional counseling can you help yourself to be a better person to yourself as well as others.
Now--What do YOU think?

That's exactly the point I've been trying to make about religious people. Thank you.
Religion is a serious mental illnesses. It’s the inability to face the reality of life and the finality of death. It affects 85% of the USA and 75% of US victims are Christians. The more pathetic and desperate a persons life, the more likely they are to believe in a god. People with otherwise empty lives, are the strongest believers. It gives them false hope that there’s a higher meaning to their sad and pathetic lives.
Religious people are dangerous. They cannot think for themselves, but instead cling to every word the bible says. Religious fanatics can somehow throw out all scientific evidence and replace it with the word of one book that has no credibility.
Recognising religion as a type of mental illness would be a good start to help cure this disease. We should develop support groups along the lines of Alcoholics Anonymous - “My name is Sam and I’m a recovering Christian ...”
My studies and research shows that religious people are not exactly rocket scientists, they tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. In some cases, the more violent the person, the more religious they are. I suspect that the vast majority of religious people are well below average intelligence.
I wonder if trying to improve the intellectual standard of our global community would help remove the various religions from our culture, and thereby improve happiness and peace for humanity.
It’s a statistical fact that the higher your education, income, and intelligence, the more likely you are not to believe in a god. For every college student that converts to a religious belief system, 17 college students convert to atheist beliefs.
Atheists have an average intelligence of 25 IQ points above their Christian counterparts. It’s no wonder why the USA (75% Christian) is so arrogant, aggressive or violent towards others in this world.
80% of the world’s population is religious.
80% of the world’s violence and wars are caused by religion.
80% of religious people are of below average intelligence.
There are numerous examples of the above, but such statistics are ignored or more importantly, deliberately concealed by religious groups.
Thank you again for highlighting this obvious problem that religious people suffer from.

Agreed.
If people think they will find 'the truth', then they are very naive. Our human brains will never be capable of understanding how it all is.
Therefore I would never trust any religion. Its all been made up by humans.
We will never know.
Because people think they DO know, there is a lot of hatred spread in this world. Some people may not hate, but have this arrogance, because hey, THEY know!
Yeah, right.
If people would understand that a believe is what it says, believe, then they might have more respect for other ideas.

I agree. Saying 'I don't know' is the only step towards actually learning something.
Anything that closes eyes and minds is to be discarded. The pursuit of knowledge is at least as important as the eventual gaining of that knowledge.

Knowing your own ignorance is the first step to cure it. Yet knowing you don't know being wholeness would thereby be impossible by its own standard. If you know that you don't know, then you do know and must not be whole.

Can't argue with that. You seek knowledge, are not a know-it-all, recognize your faults, and act to improve. I like it.

Sounds like a description of all bible thumpers. But how to cure them of their ignorance is beyond me.
