For the record, hell will be very painful and the pain will never end. That is, it'll last forever. And, God is the only God, therefore, we can't be wrong in believing in Him. Atheists try to turn the question around because they are too scared to answer it.

Assuming all you believe is true. And with full knowledge of how many times I have been shafted by one "Christian" or another, I welcome the opportunity to be somewhere that Christians aren't. At least I won't have to watch my back 24/7. The darling people of which you speak are preforgiven and as such are allowed to lie, cheat, and steal and then dance right into heaven. Well you are welcome to the place, along with all the "good Christians" you will find there and of course the leader who selects when to sleep (9/11) and when not to (it may happen some day).
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, all I have to work with are personal experiences. While all you have to work with is, is, is, a belief??? This church crap was invented by some one too lazy to work and it is enabled by people to naive to know they are being scammed.
If the government raised taxes in order to take 10% more of your pay, I could hear the echos from the moon. Yeah, I know about the vacuum, and I am very hard of hearing as well so I'm betting the screaming would be loud. Or, OMG if the multibillion dollar church business was taxed, now that would be an event worth photographing.

If if if, but but but ... Human Simplicity
The following reference material (from Google) requires a very intellectual and philosophical mind to digest and understand, but by all means read and ponder.
Google “Brains in a vat” for the latest reference material.
It basically suggests and refutes that we (you or anyone) are just brains in a vat connected to a super-computer because we are able to ask the question are we just brains in a vat. Unfortunately the theory is flawed because it assumes we are dealing with human brains in a vat, but that may not be the case.
It is possible that everything we think, feel, touch, hear, believe, sense, taste, smell, you name it is in fact virtual, and everything science or religion puts forward is virtual. It is possible that all the troubles in the world are virtual. It is possible that the universe is virtual, and therefore the intelligence in a vat will never know the answers to anything in our world or universe. It is possible that we are some form of intelligence in a vat, and therefore we are virtual and don't exist in the form or manner that we believe we do. It is possible that we may not even be human.
Should the above state (brains in a vat) truly exist then you would be unable to prove to anyone through any medium that you exist.
Once again ... what if, what if, what if. How do you know that God really cares about human beings?
Imagine this. You’ve just bought a new home which you furnish with all sorts of nice fittings and fixtures, then prepare the grounds and garden. You plant a wide range of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and vegetables. You clip and prune as time goes on, spray the weeds, and generally keep your property in good shape.
Many years pass and your gardens are flourishing, not a weed to be seen anywhere. You head off on holiday, a weed pops up and bugs start to crawl all over it. Not to worry, when you return home you spray the gardens, killing all the bugs and weeds. Everything is back to normal.
Now consider the universe. After billions of years a little planet (weed) called Earth pops up and it’s crawling with bugs called humans. Do you really think the gardener (or creator) really cares about the bugs and weeds? Do you think the gardener will destroy you? Do you think that the bugs (humans) on the weed (Earth) have any idea what’s going on in the rest of universe?

You have just as much to lose. If you are wrong then you wasted a life time worshipping a fairytale, when you could have been out changing the world for the better. You could have saved a life instead of asking some make believe deity to help change the way that your life is going. As said before “Religion is the heroin of the masses” it allows you to live in a fantasy land when your actions do not have to be justified. You can revert to the old adage that if God doesn’t want me to have it I won’t get it. “BS” you can get it if you want it, not because some vindictive myth in the sky says’s “you can’t have it”. Religion allows you to justify your crappy decisions by saying “That this is what god wants” BS you chose wrong. Live with it. God never gave anyone winning lottery numbers. It was just probability; god doesn’t put food on your table. You go out and buy it; with the money you made from working and give it to someone who spent the time to grow the food that you and other people need to eat.
Answer this question for me. How come the most religious places on the planet are also the places with the highest poverty?
Need a hint, because there all pray to god to give them help to get off there lazy butts to make something of there life, to give them food, a job, something to justify their existence. Not, I’m here lets live my life to the fullest that I can. God is a hindrance on a full life. As well God is stopping man from being all that he can.

If I die and find out that I'm going to hell than god is evil and didn't deserve my worship anyways! It doesn't matter though, Pascal's wager doesn't work! What if god is only going to put those into heaven that are brave enough not to believe in it while putting everyone else in to hell? See how ridiculous the argument is?
"If im wrong..which I sincerly believe I'm not...then I have nothing to lose BUT everything to gain!"
No you don't. What if your going to go to hell for not worshiping Allah? What if you're going to hell for not worshiping Zeus? If you're wrong, you have EVERYTHING to lose!

Indeed ... and what about if YOU"RE wrong - maybe Muhammed is the real prophet, or the Buddha is the only truth, or maybe Christianity is a heresy against the true religion of Moses, or your particular brand of Christianity is a heresy?
I use the word "if" just for you. But what happens when you die and it's too late?

real christian-like answers from the christian crowd here...nice qtpie. Im a catholic but im not exactly a holy roller...I think that if there is a God, hes not what a lot of the fundementalists make him out to be. Am I worried? I worry about what might happen, yeah, or HOW I'm going to die. Ive already decided I wanna be on my death bed, about to die peacefully in my sleep, only to be abducted by aliens and disected.

That's called Pascal's Wager and it's flaws are well documented. See below link.
But basically, your choice to believe based on the argument that you have more to gain than not, does not constitute real belief. And the assumptions that 'belief' and 'God's non existence' is a null event is incorrect. The crimes against humanity conducted in the name of God demonstrates the real cost.

What if you are wrong, and the muslims are right? Ever thought about that? Probably not.
However, I have a huge amount of evidence that clearly shows you are, in fact, wrong. And it disproves the muslims and everyone else, also. I have 100% certainty that your concept of God is wrong, so I'm therefore not afraid of your consequences.
Whether there is a god or not, I cannot tell you. But I can definitely prove to you that YOURS does not exist.

I'm not atheist, but I say the heck with it, if there is something up there (and I'm pretty sure there is) I don't want to be in eternal suffering just because I chose to not believe in anything.
ps. Ry is right, and crowell29a, you have a point. But when I die and your in hell, I'll just be staring down at you from heaven reapeating over and over what you have to say as you constantly are in pain and suffering forever.

If you don't believe in heaven or hell (as it's described in Christianity) then how can you be wrong? The same could be said if you are simply living your life for whatever happens next. Wouldn't you be missing out on a lot? It's all relative on what you believe or don't.
