Bible humpers, Bible thumpers - sheesh, are those the ONLY derrogatory terms you guys have for Christians? Every other term we use in society evolves with the years. Yet here we are in 2006, and you're still saying "Bible thumper"? wow. I think of the term "automobile", for example. We've gone from that term to cars, wheels, rides, and now whips. The people who came up with those terms are at least creative! But not you guys. You just hate something, or someone, and all you can think of is to spend your time regurgitating the same old tired sayings in your attempts to sound original? And I must say, for hating something so much, you spend a curious amount of time discussing it, writing about it, and reading about it... interesting, dont'cha think?
Yawn...

They do but the seem to fall into two groups. One group searchs out and trumpets the "mistakes" they find. These mistakes are, of course, only errors when compared to the belief system of the finder and according to the book the finder believes. The other group take "the more in sorrow" approach and cite the agreements between the books and soto voce call for the elimination of the differences in the other book not their own.
Oddly enough the Quran is based on that principle. Islam says that the Torah and the Bible started out saying the same thing as the Quran but error was deliberately or mistakenly made part of both books. This is why Jeseus, Moses, Isiah et al are revered in Islam as prophets.

Why would I want to? The Holy Bible is all I need to find out how to go to heaven. I just love and know my own The Holy Bible. It really is the only holy book available to mankind. How about you? Have you ever read The Holy Bible? Try it, you'll be surprised and maybe even learn how to get to heaven. This is my prayer for you.

It's true. There are Bible Thumpers that come across as nothing but opinionated people that twist scriptures to mean what they want them to mean. They don't even read the Bible correctly much less books of other religions.

It is also true that there are non believers that twist scripture and try to make the Bible appear to contradict itself. They read the Bible only to isolate certain passages without consideration to context.

Neither side has a hold on all of the scholarly people.

These issues are a matter of faith. One owes it to theirself to discover the truth. Truth does exist.

What would be the point? The Bible is the one and only Sovereign Word of God. So why would we read the other books. They are all Lies. The Bible is the only True word of God. The rest are against the Bible.

I have parts of the Koran and the Book of Mormon. I have also read parts of the Satanic Bible. I read atheist literature and other publications that purport to disprove the existence of God. Unlike what many of you believe it is actually possible to arrive at the conclusion of God's existence using reason and logical thought. I highly recommend the book "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. Of course you atheists rarely follow your own advice and read literature with views contrary to your own.

I think you mean "bible thumpers."

Yes. There's a branch of theology called "comparitive theology", where the scriptural texts of all religions are studied and, well, compared. In the book of Isaiah, God Himself invites us to reason out our salvation.

Your second question should begin with the word "and"...
