Your cat may see things that you can't, meaning something tiny! My two cat do the same thing! :0)

My female cat will sit for a long time staring at the walls. Every now and then, she will make a wild sound. We're convinced that she either hears something that hurts her ears or she's seeing our deceased parents. Cats are VERY intuitive and can sense things humans can not.

Hmm, I had lots of different cats, they all see things that we can't just like, their ears are so sharp that they can hear what we can't sometimes, same for the eyes, and cats likes to look around...i laugh at one of my cat when he did the same thing, it was like he was tricking me.

Cats also look at the things where they saw other cat coming before, or a mouse running, or something they can run after and get it.their senses are sharper than humans, so if they are near that place where they saw something interesting , cats again look at that place to make sure if again there is anything.

I see things too............."I see fat people , walking around like regular people "

Gremlins.

At least that's my sister's theory.

This is common behavior. I doubt anyone knows.

Jon Carroll, a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle frequently writes "cat columns" -- you could go to the site below and do a search on his name and the word 'cats' -- he has tremendous insight into the catoid mind (and is funny -- all of his columns are good, BTW, not just the cat ones, though not all are funny).

It won't answer your question, though.

Animals can see things that humans cannot. My mom's dog barks and follows what she sees with her eyes and there is no one there. I believe that what your cat sees is a ghost. Not trying to scare you, but remember the cat in Ghost ?? (the movie)

some people say that animal have like a sixth sense and can see ghosts but my dog always stares at a wall all the time because when a car goes by the light reflects off the car onto the wall so maybe it is something like that

I think they see spirits. They get a far away look and when I follow their gaze, I never see anything. Sometimes at night, they run around the house meowing and carrying on and when I sneak a look at them, there is nothing there I can see but something they certainly can see.

A lot of the time she might be looking at a shadow, beam of light, or seeing something like a very small bug. My kitten used to freak me out sometimes and swat at things that didn't exist. Turned out that they did exist, I just couldn't see them.

They see small things taht you can not. He is probably seeing dust particals. You can see them when its really light in a room. Although sometimes I wounder if my cat can see other things too. Ive heard that animals can sense spirits. A little creepy.

Molecules. My cats stare at molecules all the time. ;-)

Seriously, who knows? Perhaps something really tiny we can't see, like a dust mote or tiny insect.

I myself think they're looking at spirits or entities we can't see, but that should go in the religion or mythology sections. ;-)
