racist if we ask the same of illegal immigrants? Why are we told to abort or use birth control and then are asked to support their 'growing families'? Why are we asked to worry about their starving families when they are smart enough to do something about it but won't? If we have similar problems we are 'frowned upon' for knowing better!

Very interesting answers from both sides. So their religion and customs give them the right to overpopulate on our tax money?I don't believe in abortion myself, so I wouldn't ask anyone to do it. But have these people even heard of the rhythm method of birth control?

I have been looked upon as a sex crazed rabbit for having four well spaced kids. I have even been told by a healthcare provider during a miscarriage that I should just let it happen and not worry about it because I didn't need any more kids. My mother was told she should abort my brother by a very pregnant nurse.

Have you ever noticed how illegal women often stay home and have a baby a year, but US women are told to get a job and have their tubes tied after two or three. If we don't comply we are told we are lazy and irresponsible by citizens and illegals!

What I think is hilarious is that on the one hand we are cautioned to follow planned parenting, and on the other hand are told we need unfettered immigration of the world's poorest and least skilled in order to make up our lack of per capita births.

Hmmmm.... There may be a lessen in there....

Leela, where on earth did you go to school? We were all taught that the world is over populated, poverty is rife, the earth can't support this birth rate, etc. etc. If you let GWB govern your family planning, that is your business. I notice that he didn't have so many children himself, though. So maybe Laura's steady head prevailed on the birth control issue.

Actually, the large families that you see coming from Latin America are a product of an agricultural country. The more kids that you have, the better profits that you will have on your farm. It's good business sence. The US used to be the same, however, after the industrial revolution, the US began a mass Hope this helpscampaign to convince families in the United States that the ideal amount of children that they should have is 2. That is because it's more beneficial for the companies to have less people, and more space.

What you see is that most families that immigrate from other countries will adapt to the US customs, however, it usually takes a generation. .

1. you should tell that to my cousin. 5 kids. 5 dads........ she's an american. she knows better. and I've never heard anyone tell her to abort or go on birth control
2. "it's a cultural difference you wouldn't understand". this is a popular immigrant cop out that we shouldn't allow. now, a woman's body is her own and she should have as many kids as she wants. but I'm not buying the culture clash. and if you're illegal, I don't want to pay for the kids.
3. I know a guy with 50 kids. FIFTY. he pays for them all. he works three jobs. his g/fs are all on welfare because they refuse to work......... again, american......... maybe we need to start spaying them? if you refuse to come off of welfare, we have your tubes tied after the 3rd one?
4. in many religions, birth control is not an option..... but neither is telling your husband no

I honestly think we should be told to be responsible. I'm sure you were. But not everyone is given the birds and bees speech, even in America. We should have strict rules against illegal immigrants using the services. And I understand many actually do not use them. I'm not sure there is an answer to your general question. If you have specifics you'd like to clear up, let me know.

in case you substitute right into a us citizen you're actually not an invader. turning out to be a us citizen is a huge honor and a brilliant element to do ( in basic terms as you're commemorated as being an irish citizen ) inspite of the undeniable fact that alongside with the honor comes duty and accountablity on your movements. that's why there's a concern with unlawful immigrants because of the fact there's no accountablility they simply get deported and are available back a week later. while you have the possibility to do despite the fact which you prefer along with your life and in case you dont ruin the guidelines you're a golden citizen no longer any diffrent than a born naturalized citizen

It doesn't matter what your race is, if you wait until your financially ready to have a baby, alot of people would not have children. Children are a gift from God, and at least they don't abort or put their babies up for adoption. Yeah, we prove we know better by just thinking of ourselves; don't think so. Some religions do not believe in birth control, so you might want to look into that before you pass judgment on someone. You know the only one who can judge us, what will he say when your time comes??

What country do you live in that tells you to abort your fetus to help control the population or use birth control? Surely NOT the US as we all know that abortion and birth control are tools of the devil.

GWB, your illustrious glorious christian king is completely, unfailingly opposed to any birth control of any manner and if your daddy dicked you and you are now pregnant you MUST give birth to your child/sibling regardless of any consequences to you.

Your question is moot as reality does not support your statement. I suspect it was merely posed to create an anti-immigrant furor among those citizens who believe that they are superior such as yourself.

Edited to respond to DAR who wrote "Leela, where on earth did you go to school? We were all taught that the world is over populated, poverty is rife, the earth can't support this birth rate, etc. etc. If you let GWB govern your family planning, that is your business. I don't understand - did you think that I support GWB's views? Nowhere did I deny that the world is rife with poverty, etc, etc. I was only surprised by the questioner's statement that she is told by her US gov't that she must abort or use birth control to be a good citizen. Her question and statement are blatantly posed to stir up shite, my friend.

I was educated in Canada, home of pothead hippies and descendants of commie draft dodgers...isn't it obvious?!? Sarcasm can be lost on some people.

I've heard that every year last time is was about $113,000 to raise a child to 18. That turned off alot of women, and I hope that's not what our taxpayers have been paying for other people's children so we can't have any of our own.

People are starting to wake up to the dark side of politically correct.

Michelle G- I would NOT worry about their families, if I wasn't helping to foot the bill for their families! I have every right to worry about where my tax dollars go.
