Yes, because some things are good only in moderation. For example, if you had all the money in the world it would cease to have value because people would start bartering. Sweets are good but too much of them will kill you. I could go on all day making a list like this, but I think you get the idea.

I think that food can be considered a good thing in general, and you can have too much of that (as a meal anyway). The subsequent suffering from eating too much would, I think, be a clear indication to someone that he/she had too much of a good thing.

Yeah. One time I went to Friendly's to get some of their wicked good meatloaf and I finished the whole huge plate really easily. Then I ate the rest of my friend's too because she didn't like it. Then I started getting mind blowing cramps in my lower abdomen for the next 12 hours.
