First of all, It's Human Nature, People do what people do because it's part of our nature, telling lies are a good & bad thing, it has a lot to do with what the lie is told for at times, I am not saying that it is a good thing to tell lies but, some lies are necessary, while others do hurt.
When your mother is laying on her death bed and she is asking you to not marry that guy that she don't like but, you have already did it without anyone knowing just yet, do you tell her that you have?
Or If your elderly aunt wore the loudest, ugliest dress to your wedding, and every one was asking about it and her do you tell her that everyone was calling her the Pink Flamingo?
See those things will hurt a person, for no reason, and do you want to hurt your loved ones like that? I wouldn't want to hurt them, But when you broke your Moms favorite vase and blame it on your younger sister is wrong no matter how you sum it up, and that is the type of lie that will get you more & more in trouble.

I really do not know if the world would be a better place if we as people would stop telling lies, I do think it could not make it any worst than what it is now, The only thing we can hope for is that we teach our children well and that we make sure that we do the best we can as a person, and just be honest as we can.

It is human nature to lie. Children start as soon as they're able to talk. Most of the time, it's used to protect someone: yourself or others. People are afraid of being honest because they are afraid of the consequences. It's often easier to pretend than to face reality. Being honest sometimes gets you in trouble, especially if your friend's boyfriend really is a jerk or that cake that your man spent all day making tastes like buttcake or your boss has dog breath. A lie is a lie, but white ones do help in cases like that. It's the lies that are told just to see if they'll fly that hurt the most.

I used to think that too, and then I met a girl who could use honesty like the most brutal weapon. Honesty is a double-edged sword.

There's a reason adults lie sometimes. Most often it's out of consideration for someone else's feelings. For example, if you know a fat girl who you know is working very hard at losing weight, you might compliment her on her appearance to encourage her. The truth is that the 20 lbs she's lost isn't really noticeable among the 240 left, but it makes her feel better to receive compliments and encourages her to continue her hard work. It's a small lie, but it's a helpful one. See?

Good question , but I don't have a good answer . I use to be a supervisor in charge of 10 or so people . I think I've heard every lie and excuse yo can think of , and usually if they would have just been truthful things would have worked out better .

Most ppl lie to make them self feel better or so ppl won't know the trueth about them! Lots of ppl lie to make them selfs sound better then someone else.Some ppl lie because they know that is what you want to hear.

Unfortunately, some people do not have a conscience and will just lie natuarally. It's like it doesn't even bother them to do it. They don't realize that their little lie may hurt someone and probably don't care anyway. That is why we get to choose our friends. The ones that lie just don't get into my "club". Good luck!!!

because most people can't handle the truth. you tell them the truth and you end up bing the worst person on the planet. I told the truth to some one 2 months ago and it destoryed 2 families.
