Rastafarianism is a religious cult in Jamaica who believes about the black redemption and return to Africa. They venerate Haille Sellasie. Popularized in 1968. I am not so sure if they started "THE RASTAFARIANISM" as a religion but if you are asking if they started "THE RELIGION" per se, of course not.

Ras Tafari referred to Haile Sellassie. It means Glorious (Tafari) Prince (Ras) in Amharic. So I guess you can say Haile Sellassie was the first. It's bases on his writings.
