I would like to preface this by saying i was 152 lbs at 6'0'' tall, 3 years ago. i am now 222lbs with the same waist size. Do the math, i gained 70 lbs of body weight in 3 years. I am 32 years old, so it was even harder for me to do that then say if i was 20 something.
With that said, if any one else can truthfully express that they have accomplished something equal or better than this 'feat', then you know how hard it is to do. If you haven't don't comment.
I did this by eating and exercising, but mostly eating. 70-80% of how you look is not done in the gym but in the kitchen. Everyone wants you to think its lifting weights, or how and what your lift and using their exercise products or supplements to change your body. BUT if your talking about bulking and or cutting its all what you put in your mouth. You don't need weight gainers or vitamins or protein even, if you are eating the right foods.
FOR a hard gainer, eat 6 times a day, try to get 3,500-4k of calories a day. Work out about 3 times a week and only hit each body part ONCE a week. Make sure you sleep 8 or more hours a day. Don't drink, don't take in caffeine. you do this you will gain good weight. If you are a hard gainer eat anything you want, yep anything. After you get the weight you need start your cardio and then worry about eating clean. Keeping in mind that goal is to add weight, and for some that is a hard goal.
ALSO, take advice from those who actually LOOK like bodybuilders. WHY? Because they OBVIOUSLY know what they are talking about, because they physically 'look it, as they talk it'.

Wow,pretty vast subject. The best way to get big while lifting weights is to do big compound movements like squat, bench, dead lift and bent over barbell rows.Use a considerable amount of weight after warming up for reps around 3-5.It's important at the same time to take in a surplus of calories and keep your protein intake high getting some every three hours to retain a positive nitrogen balance.Stay away from cardio while you're trying to get bigger and train each body part hard only once per week to allow for recovery

supplements are the way to go. top brands are everywhere yet the safest is "bsn" it's incredible. they basically have legal performance enhancers made of caffeine and things (all safe) and weight gains which you basically take after your workout and give thousands of calories ideal for muscle. if for some strange reason a lot of people do not like supplements you gotta get those eggs into you, take out the yoke(yellow par) and use the white only, it contains almost 100% protein ideal for muscle growth. holla. check out www.bsnonline.net. and hit those weights hard if you don't push yourself you'll never be big. enjoy pumping iron and i'll see you at the top.

I have been working out now for 3 weeks.I take whey protein(with milk) every day, this definitely helps,as a lot of ppl have already pointed out.I work out everyday, but i wouldn't advise it at first.Workout every alternate day(you need to give your muscles rest) and then pack in the days when your muscles get used to it.
Note:You do have to have a healthy intake of protein everyday(This is cruicial for you to build muscles!).

Try doing both cardio and weightlifting. You will look better and the muscles will grow quicker.
Also when you work out, do not work out the same muscle group 2 days in arrow. It is not healthy, and it does not give the muscles time grow back. (when you work out, you actually tear your muscle. Then it grows back bigger. This process needs time to grow back or you will be wasting your time and energy)
Also, try to use heavier weights with less reps.

The main thing is just try to take in a lot of protein.
All the shakes and everything at GNC that say they help you get bigger is nothing but protein in a container.

Lift heavy weights, with fewer reps. Give your muscles at least a day of rest, eat right, and do cardio too.

Few tips:
1) super-foods
food items containing omega-3 oils (flaxseeds), protein (tofu/soya), wholegrains (oatmeal), Cruciferous vegetables (cabbage (Cruciferous vegetables not only help fill you up, but they also help you burn more calories!) etc.
2) super-sets
excersicing to opposing muscles one after the other (tricep/bicep chest/back)
Super-sets boost the release of anabolic hormones like testosterone, which is responsible for muscle growth
3) supplements- available in most health shops
