Very normal. Cats tend to be nocturnal animals sleeping during the day and up and about at night.

But, now, the part about hiding from people during the day. Sounds liked he is a bit skiddish....this can be modified if you have the time and patience. Try rewarding the kitty when he comes to people or just hangs around them during the day--with a treat. As long as this doesn't disrupt his sleeping patterns he will become more than happy to take a treat from a new human visitor during the day!

This is completely normal. Cats are nocturnal. Plus one reason he may hide from people is if he doesn't know them. Cats can take their time when getting to know someone new other than their owners. My cat acts like this all the time. Some times when she gets to hyper I close the door at night to my room so I can sleep. If you want to calm the cat you could try FEILAWAY. It works with some cats. But dont worry. If your cat stops playing or stops eating or if the poop changes then seek a vet.

I have 4 male cats. One of them is very social to partys gatherings guests, he's gotta be there. I have another thats come around from being the shyest to the second most out going with company, and hes around about 80% of the time when guests are here. My other two hide and hide and hide. Aside from all cats being different, its totally normal. What helped my 1 cat that was shy become people friendly, was that we would invite 2-3 quiet people over, and coax the cat out while we were sitting on the floor. He started to gain trust from strangers, it was a slow slow yearly process, but its totally paid off. Good luck and happy meowing!

Typically at night it's quiet and calm. Your cat is uninhibited and can express him/herself freely. During the day, you may have a lot of "traffic" in your home, friends, neighbors, other visitors. Lot's of people and noise can stress a cat. Some cats are extremely gregarious and love people and can be out and about in any social situation. Typically these cats have been socialized from a very, very early age. Cats that have only been around their immediate families and don't have much experience with strangers and guests, are much more likely to be afraid. Don't worry, you have a perfectly normal cat.

Cats are by nature nocturnal. Most cats that are shy during the day are shy at night as well. However, it sounds like your cat is true to it's nocturnal nature and can't resist the temptation to play and socialize in the evening hours. Engage your cat in interactive play for 20 minutes or so before you go to bed and you both may sleep better.
Good luck!

Cats are nocturnal animals, so it's normal that they want to run around at night. As for hiding during the day, that's part of your particular cat's personality... it may be afraid of people, especially strangers.

dont worry this is normal, my cat does that all the time, especialy if the cat doesnt see any other people usally. then if someone comes to your cat he/she gets a bit scared and runs away to hide. but since your cat is used to u it loves to play with u and it runs around like crazy because cats spend most of their time sleeping, so when its awake it it has a lot of energy.

so dont worry this is completely normal. its not just your cat. if you dont want your cat to be shy around people anymore(its best if its a kittin) let it see people like once a week, diferent people, so the cat gets used to other people and knows that they are not going to hurt it. bring some of your friends over. and dont worry your cat will know who the owner is and it will always love you the most :D
good luck hope i helped

Very normal.

Cats are nocturnal (active at night) animals. S/he probably prefers snoozing all day in different areas & patches of sun, then at dusk, gets ready to hunt, eat and romp.

S/he probably avoids people during the day because she's in rest mode, doesn't want to be bothered, and is avoiding the noise.

Cats are quite adept at scheduling their activites, and sometimes people are not 'penciled in'. Oh well. As long as your cat seems happy, leave it alone.

The cat runs and hides because it afird a other peolpe. Cats go crazy because they went to play. That is normal for a cat to so that. I have a cat too.
