Just purchased some Kool-Aid from americansoda.co.uk and tried to make my first batch, but my interpritation of the instructions have left me with a weak watery drink, and not how I remember is from a trip to a relatives.

Americans have strange ideas when it comes to measures. Firstly, their gallon is smaller than ours so a quart is going to be smaller. An Imperial pint weighs in at 20 fl ozs so an Imperial quart is going to be 40 fl ozs. However, I seem to remember seeing somewhere that an American pint is 16 fl oz. As they themselves are wont to say, 'go figure'.

U.S. cup is about 8oz.-U.S.pint is 16 fluid ounces so you have a fifth too much water!
