Interesting that this quote appears next to an ad for Donald Trumps' campaign - especially as it is Mr. Trump that inspired me to look up the exact wording of the quote. Perhaps I could paraphrase in his honor: "Wise men tweet because they have something to say; Fools because they have to tweet something.” That is, if there is any such thing as a wise tweet. Cheers!

i just want to say i love your avatar that is so cute!!!
now, back to your question. that statement is so true because wise men know they are intelligent so they don't speak often about random things and the fools who think they are intelligent speaks all the time because they think they have so many things to say that are actually important.

It's just like online gaming vs the real life. Like Wizard101, you can be quick friends, just by clicking the 'Add Friend' button. But it takes more than a chat or two to become connected to have a friendship-relationship.

Wise men make many mistakes; fools make the same mistakes over and over again.

Well, God gave us 2 ears and only 1 mouth. Yea, besides that, there's this saying that goes like this, "Even a foolish man is considered wise if he keeps his mouth shut". Or yes...the lame-o "empty vessels make the most noise". :)

I COULD SAY A LOT OF THINGS ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR QUOTE, BUT IF I DO ITS LIKE I WON'T BE SAYING ANYTHING AT ALL.
I WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD APPLY THIS TO THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE...BUT MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT THE WISE TO BEGIN WITH.
