I thought I saw transluscent worms flying around the air attacking the earth. As I was trying to shoot them down with my shotgun, the neighbors explained it was just those things that float in my eye.

Sometimes when I look into the bright sky I think I see a bunch of sperm swimming around. Apparantly it's actually the blood vessels in my eye.

I'm 53 and had developed eye floaters about 4 or 5 years ago. The doctors told me that they're harmless, but whoever has had them knows how annoying they are. They also said that I could have them "burned off" with laser surgery, but there was no way I was going to "burn" anything off my eyes! So I kind of accepted that my floaters were there to stay.

Pretty odd story, there...if the floaters get bad, you need to take a quick trip to your optometrist. I don't think it's a detatched retina, the symptom of that is white light in the periphery. If you're worried, go to the doc and leave the gun alone.

My floaters have startled me on occasion, causing me think they are some little critter thing flying by. But I've never gone so far as to try to shoot them down, since I knew what it was. I think everybody has them, but not everyone sees them clearly.
