popcorn bags say this side up..what happens if it isnt??

Not all of the popcorn will pop. It says this side down because thats where the popcorn and butter sauce is. If it's on top it wont work right.

It doesn't pop completely and you'll get some burning.
The side that goes down has an exra layer of paper insulation. There's also an extra layer of grease (butter flavored grease, if that's more platable ;-) ). The grease gets hot and starts turning the water inside the corn to steam and it pops. If it's upside down, the grease releases the kernels and they move away from the grease so less heat is transferred to them, less corn pops, less steam in the bag..e.t.c... less corn pops and some will burn since you leave it in too long waiting for it to pop more.

Not much, put popcorn can explode in a microwave, so beware.

nothing,its just a questin to ask........... ill make up one, maybe the popcorn will turn into cornpop cuz it was put in upside down. ha ha ha!

The oil/butter flavor won't distribute in the best way, so it won't pop as well.
