Maybe you can try to find a 15 minute work out program that works for you. You can do that while baby is napping. It really depends on how hard you are willing to work. Your diet is important too. I'm sure you know this already, but your body is pretty messed up after having a kid, and it takes a lot of work to get it back in shape. It's worth it of course. There are plenty of things you can do in the comfort of your own home, but unless you have been in an aerobics class or have something to base your own workout program on, it's going to be difficult to set something up for yourself. Pool aerobics works good, but is usually for older people or anyone with joint problems. It does take a lot of stress off your joints, which means less pain, but you really don't get the same kind of workout that you would using an aerobic program. The good part of a regular program is that the ones they have now are set up for people with a small amount of time to work out, and are looking for the biggest impact.

I haven't tried pool aerobics, but I've heard they're great.

There are lots of exercise videos on the market, so if you need to stay indoors to start out, I'd say get a couple fun videos, and go for it!

Good luck, and remember to have fun! Moving is fun. Treat it like your play time, and you'll stick to it!

Also, you probably already know this - but breast feeding is a great way to take off some of the baby weight. And even if you don't want to run because of the heat, think about starting off with fast walking. You can strap the baby on in a Gerri Carrier, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature/parks, etc. together. Great bonding time, and you can start teaching the baby the names of birds, flowers, etc.

Hey, my mom has a bad back, and part of her therapy included the water areobics. The nice side effect: She did loose weight. If you really want to loose it, Increase your excercise.. ok better word... movement. I clean cars for a living and with changing my diet to include heathier food (more veggies less carbs) and cleaning carbs I was able to drop 35lbs the right way. If you would like to know more.. email me and I can find my top 10 tips from what I did!

There is no secret, no pill, no spell. It will be the same answer until the end of time...diet and exercise. Running isn't good for your joints. Do you have a DVD player? Lots of good exercise DVDs out there... I discovered the blood-type diet worked well for me. There's a book called "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type". I just went to the list of foods that the O Pos types should eat and read the rest of the book about why it works at my leisure. You absolutely need to know your blood type, tho'. And as you know, not one thing works for everyone. Good luck.

Get back down to 140. Of course you can lose it. People gain weight because their servings exceeds their calorie usage.

Lower the portions proportionately as you lose weight and you'll be there easily.

Check out the web site below. That book helped me loose 20 pounds and I am in the process of losing more weight because it helped me determine which weight loss approach was the best for me. A weight loss program is not just a weight loss program. It should be a profound change in your life-style.

You will not be on a diet, but rather you will, for the betterment of your health, change your approach to eating.

Do that, and you will succeed.

i think ur weight should be below 162 not 180 (based on body mass index). well, eat everything but in small amount and exercise as long as u can let say an hour. it takes about 20 mins for body to begin to burn fat, if u exerice only 10 mins it won't do any much help. how about pilates or yoga? consume less calories and exercise alot. loss bit by bit. don't eat pills. eat alot of carbs, green vegy.

your ideal weight for your height is 129lbs- 153lbs. You will have to work twice as hard inside in the cool air conditioner to burn 3 times the calorie intake. If you can at least walk in your neighborhood for about 30 mins ( you need to sweat) and then work out inside for about 30 mins and then stretch after would be ok. Make sure you watch your Sat. fat and sugar intake. NO FAST FOOD!!!! I know that it is convenient but they have too many hidden fats and sugars. I too am a single mom and I know we do not have too much time to work out. involve your child with walks.

Water/swim aerobics will help quite a bit. No matter what method you decide, you will get the best results if your routine is rigid (same time every day). You should also have a well-balanced diet.

pool arobics is great - low impact, good cardio workout, and cooler in the water. you will love it. And its a big psychologial boost to have regular class times, it makes you less likely to give it up. You may also meet some new friends.
