It truly depends on the make and model of the subwoofer. I have heard 8" subwoofers outperform 12" subwoofers. Personally, I am running 3 - 10" Solobaric (old series round) in my trunk and they hit harder than vehicles that are running 4 - 12" subwoofers. Bottom line, a high quality 10" subwoofer with the right amount of power will outperform an average quality 12" subwoofer given equal power.

The 12" will reproduce the lower frequency range better than a 10". Unless you plan on running a lot of test tones, that is negligible though. I prefer the sound of 10" subs to the 12" ones. It is all personal preference.

They want you to spend more, I know been thru a nightmare just yesterday with store CarToys, stick with the 10s also only difference I have noticed between 10-12 is the 12 booms too much bass!! Almost to the point of ruining your sound quality, hope this helps. Remember they are there to please you, stick to what you want!

I have dual 12" subs in my trunk of my Eclipse, and I have nooooo trunk space. You could always fine tune the bass once you get the sub, but personally, I like 12". I think 10" would be suitable. My brother has one 10" and his can crank it out sometimes. If you're looking for an even amount of bass and treb, 10" will def. work. But if you're ghetto like me, I like to rip it out sometimes, even bass/treb others. :)

technically, there is no difference in sound quality
however, since a 12 inch speaker moves more air than a 10 inch, there is a slight difference in the volume you can get and the lower the sound range...
but inside the car you won't notice any difference really.

Everybody hears differently, end of story. If you think it sounds good... spend your money. Same goes for spoilers/wings/shopping cart handles/ park benches/ aluminum step ladders... Why,.... I saw a "whale tail" on a Ford F350 Diesel 4x4...... hauling at least a metric ton of landscaping pavers....... "That thing must be SOOOOOOOOOO fast"....Conversley, if you were to ask Alma Gates what subs she like best.... she'd probably laugh and say.... "Whatever the sponsors give me"
